Use the Post Page as Your Landing Page
With Challenge, you can configure your course's landing page to prioritize your content flow. By default, students are redirected to the post page when they open the course or click the link from the library. However, you can easily choose to set the dashboard or any other page as the landing page to match your course structure. The dashboard remains accessible via a link within the course, offering flexibility without compromising accessibility.
Daily, Weekly, or Custom Drip Options
By tweaking the options and following our simple instructions, the template can be adjusted to work well with any content structure, including:
- Single Post Per Day: Perfect for daily challenges.
- Multiple Posts Per Day: Ideal for courses with a heavier load of content.
- Weekly Drip: Designed for weekly-paced courses.
- Only Main Categories: Provides a clean, simplified navigation.

The Enhanced Course Outline
- Scroll Behavior:
- Automatically scrolls to the active day upon page load.
- Choose between smooth animations or a static scroll, configurable for first loads or every page load.
Collapse Behavior:
Collapse all but active, Collapse only subcategories, Collapse completed lessons, Collapse all, No collapse
- Active Category or Lesson Style: Customize how the active category or lesson is highlighted to enhance clarity. Pending Drip Style: Hiding titles, Graying out, Applying a blur effect, etc...
Enable or disable manual collapse for full control.
Custom Welcome Messages
Keep your students inspired with personalized welcome messages tailored to each lesson.
- Display unique messages for each lesson, keeping the tone fresh and motivating.
- Use a generic message across all lessons for simplicity.
- Enable or disable messages for selected lessons based on your course needs.
Content Pending Messages
Build anticipation with content pending messages when students complete their daily lesson and await the next.
- Show a personalized custom message and a countdown timer indicating when the next lesson will unlock.
- Guide students to explore additional resources, review previous lessons, or complete optional tasks while they wait.

Challenge Template Quick Start Instructions
The Challenge Template provides an engaging daily or weekly drip course experience.
Built on the mCore template engine, it includes all the popular features that users have come to love in our mCore templates.
The template introduces three main additions:
- Outline Bar Optimized for Drip: Enhances navigation for drip schedules.
- Custom “Welcome” and “Drip Pending” Popup Messages: Improves user interaction.
- Customizable Course Landing Page: Offers flexibility in course presentation.
Outline and Dripping
Dripping Lessons Instead of Modules
Kajabi allows dripping or locking content only at the module (category) level. To drip individual lessons, each lesson must be placed within a category or subcategory.
Single Lesson per Category (Day/Week)
In the template preview, each lesson is organized within a category labeled “Day 1,” “Day 2,” and so on. This setup ensures a single lesson is dripped each day or week. You may opt to check the “Hide Category” option to simplify the appearance while still providing the structure for daily or weekly drips. View example
Multiple Lessons or Subcategories per Main Category (Day/Week)
In this image, we see three common setup examples of the outline for courses with multiple lessons per category or drip.
Whether your drip schedule is daily, weekly, or other, if you include a few lessons within a single category or subcategories, consider setting the “Collapse On Load” option to “Collapse All But Active” and ensuring “Allow Manual Collapse” is checked.
Additional Options for Drip Course Outlines
- Scroll on Load (Full Width Layout Only): Automatically focuses on the active category and lesson when the page loads, with an optional animated scroll effect. Ensure the page layout is set to “Full Width Layout.” Learn more.
- Allow Manual Collapse: Enables or disables the chevron icon next to category titles, allowing users to manually collapse categories when checked. Learn more.
- Pending Drip Options: Customize the appearance of locked categories and lessons, including hiding or showing pending categories, collapsing on load, and adjusting the blur effect. Learn more.
- Border Around Active Category: Highlights the active category by default. Adjust this behavior to highlight the parent category or subcategory as needed. Learn more.

Setting Custom Messages for Individual Lessons:
- Open the post edit page (where you set the lesson’s title, video, and description).
- At the bottom of the post description, add the tag
#welcome-message: your-message. - Replace
your-messagewith your custom content. This message will appear as soon as the student opens the lesson (post) page. It will not display on the dashboard.
Use the Post Page as Your Landing Page - Learn More
By default, in Kajabi, the landing page for a course is the dashboard. The Challenge Template offers an alternative, allowing you to redirect students to the post page or any other page within your template.
To set this up:
- Navigate to Global Settings > General Settings and select your desired landing page.
- While the dashboard will remain accessible through the top bar menu, you can remove this option by editing the Header Section and deleting the dashboard menu text.
If you wish to link directly to the dashboard, add ?noRedirect to your course URL (e.g., https://my-domain/products/myProduct?noRedirect). Without this postfix, the link will direct students to the page set in the “Landing Page” setting.
